Bungee Jumping
If you thought bungee jumping was restricted to some places
in Europe, New Zealand and America, it's time you got and
update. The sport has finally found a natural home in the
highest mountain range in the world. The ultimate thrill of
a bungee jump can now be experienced in Nepal at perhaps the
best site in the world.
Nepal's first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the
wild Bhote Koshi river, and located close to the Nepal-Tibet
border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu. As can be
arranged on arrival in Kathmandu. As of now, there is only
one agency offering this sport. The jump, at 160m, was
designed by one of New Zealand's leading bungee consultants,
and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters
in the business. It's mishap-proof. The agency takes safety
"very, very seriously".
Location: Less than 3 hours outside Kathmandu by
Ultimate Bungy Shuttle. You will travel the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa)
Highway to within 12km of the Tibet Border and the famous
Friendship Bridge.
The Gorge: Ultimate Bungy Nepal takes place on a 166m
wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhoti Kosi River.
The Bridge: Swiss designed, specially for bungy
jumping with a 4x saftey factor. The bridge has a loading
factor of 250kg per running meter. This means that the
bridge will hold 250 x 166 = 41,500kg or 4.5 tonnes. And...
those are Swiss measurements! * Over 6000 meters of steel
wire was used to build the bridge * Longest suspension
bridge in Nepal * The bridge joins two sides of a great
valley. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to
cross this river gorge.
Mountain Biking

peaceful surrounding environment and make friends with the
locals.

Paragliding
Nepal forms a rectangle on the southern slopes of the
Himalaya and is without exception, the most stunning country
imaginable. The main area for paragliding is the Pokhara
valley, commanding views of 3 of the worlds 8000m peaks with
friendly and constant conditions for your paragliding
holiday.
Tandem flying involves a pilot flying with a passenger. Both
have separate harnesses that are attached to each other and
the wing. Paragliding harnesses are built for comfort and
safety, they feel more like an armchair. Once launched the
passenger just sits back, relaxes and takes in the epic
scenery. Even taking pictures is not a problem. Due to the
portable nature and easy launch characteristics of a
paraglider (they fit into a rucksack) We can take them
anywhere and fly them from most mountains in Nepal.
We take a 20 min jeep ride from Pokhara to Sarangkot the
viewpoint 2000ft above Lakeside. From here we can see 3 of
the highest mountains in the world. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna,
Manaslu, all over 8000 m. We offer 3 types of tandem flight
from here.
Phewa Tal View
In the morning and late afternoon these 15min flights give
you a taste of unpowered flight, taking you over Pokhara
lake and then landing by a Lakeside bar. Price: $50
Cloud buster
This midday flight gives you the thrill of high flight as we
thermal up above Sarangkot in the company of eagles and
vultures, 30min - 1 hour. We land by the lake. Price: $75
Cross-country
This offers you the chance to experience flying from one
valley to another. Using thermals, clouds and birds to guide
us, we take you on an unforgettable journey north of Pokhara
towards the big mountains. We fly as long as we can and aim
to return to Pokhara that afternoon. Price: $120.
Ultralight Aircraft
Ultralight aircraft take off from Pokhara and offer
spectacular views of the lakes, mountains and villages. This
is an ideal way to see life from a new perspective. The
choice of the Pokhara Valley for ultralight aircraft is
appropriate chiefly because of the proximity of the
mountains, and the scenic lakes. For those who wished they
could fly like birds when growing up, this flight is a must.
It might be lonely at the top, but the spectacular view from
up high certainly makes it all worth it. Flights are from
the Pokhara airport beginning September through June. The
flights take place from sunrise to 11a.m. and from 3p.m. to
sunset everyday during these months.
Hot Air Ballooning
Hot air ballooning is a very popular with tourists for it
affords the most spectacular bird's eye view of the
Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan ranges towering in the
background. On a clear day it's a superb way to view the
Himalaya (from over 6000m up), and the view of the valley is
equally breathtaking.
Rock Climbing
If you want a cliff hanger experience in Nepal, the
Kathmandu valley perimeter offers some hair-raising spots.
There are some terrific, dizzying places for those who get
their kicks from crawling up vertical cliffs. If you are not
making it to some of the kingdom's high peaks, here's
another opportunity to get a high. Of late, rock climbing
has found increasing popularity among the tourists coming
into Nepal as well as for local enthusiasts, Trekking
agencies too have jumped into the bandwagon and some of them
now offer the rock climbing experience.
Most of the spots are situated to the north and northwest of
the valley, in the vicinity of the Nagarjun Royal forest and
the shiva puri watershed and wildlife reserve. Your rock
climbing trip can therefore be combined with bird watching,
game watching and experiencing some of the last of the
valley's wilds. Nagajuna is a verdant hill located to the
northwest of the Swyambhu Stupa and believed to be the place
where the famous Buddhist philosopher. Nagarjun meditated.
The cliff here is located inside the Nagarjun forest reserve
suitable for both beginners and wall rats. The limestone
rock face is about 12-15 m high and bears the remnants of
earlier climbs. what purists would describe as "piton
scarred " or a defaced face. You could always do a free
climb if experienced enough or use the friendlier chocks.
