Chulu
East is a Himalayan classic. There's the climbing
itself, which is brilliant if you know how to work in
snow and ice, and unafraid of crossing crevassed
glaciers. Then there is the view around you. In the
theatre of the Annapurna, Chulu East looks out onto
Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Annapurna II, III and V,
Gangapurna, and Tilicho. The approach and descent trek
are brilliant, combining the Marsyangdi and Kali
Gandaki valleys, linked by Thorong La
