Cette vaste région s’étend sur une cinquantaine de
kilomètres à l’ouest de la kali Gandaki.Elle comporte
plusieurs 7000 donc le Dhaulagiri(8167m)le Dhaulagiri
I a tenu en échec de nombreuses expéditions,acquérant
une reputation de difficulté.ce n’est qu’en 1960
qu’une expédition suisse put en atteindre le sommet.On
peut citer les Dhaulagiri II et IV,le Churen
Himal(7371m.)le Putja Hiunchuli(7246m.)le Gurja Himal
(7193m.) etc.
