An
easier version of the classic Annapurna trek. If you
are short on time, or unsure of your fitness or
comfort at altitude, this is the trip for you. You fly
into Jomosom, ascend to Muktinath, getting a taste of
the windy, almost lunar Himalayan desert, and then
descend to Pokhara over the brilliant village of
Ghorepani that serves as a viewpoint over the
Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri snow
peaks. As in the olden days, today too mule and horse
caravans stop in this village, whose name translates
as 'horse water', to refuel.
