Langtang-Gosainkunda (12 days trek / total 16 days)

Covering part of an old - and still functional trade route to Tibet, this trek moves from the low- and midlands, where the lush forests teem with red pandas, wild boar, and langur monkeys, to the shrubs and yak pastures above the alpine forests. There are also interesting transitions from Hindu to syncretic to Buddhist lifestyle. The people (Bhotiya) in the higher reaches of this area are similar to Sherpas, but much more isolated. The holy lake of Gosainkunda (4,380 m) is revered by all and during the August full moon, hundreds of pilgrims make their way to it to sing, dance, bathe, and renew their faith.

Day 03	Kathmandu to starting point of trek, Dhunche (1,960 m) by bus.
Day 04	Walk to Syabrubesi (2,118 m)
Day 05	Lama Hotel (2,470 m).
Day 06	Langtang (3,340 m).
Day 07	Kyanjin Gomba (3,870 m), where in the summer a cheese and curd plant functions.
Day 08	Gora Tabela (2,970 m)
Day 09	Thulo Syabru (2,260 m).
Day 10	Sing Gomba (3,330 m)
Day 11	Gosainkunda (4,460 m)
Day 12	Return to Sing Gomba.
Day 13	Down to the roadhead at Dhunche.
Day 14	On the bus to Kathmandu. Night at hotel.
Day 15	Free day in Kathmandu for shopping. night at hotel .
Day 16	Airport transfer or back to home.

All lodge accommodation, breakfast, salaries and insurance for guides, sherpas, sardars, porters (12 kilos per person personal belongings etc during lodge treks. Please note that lunch and dinner are not included in lodge trek costs.
